I’m Yasmin Cooper, and this is my blog. Since I was a little girl, running has always been my favourite thing to do. I used to run everywhere. Upstairs, downstairs, left, and right. I’d never stopped running and moving around the house.
All that augmented exponentially when my parents signed me up to the school’s track and field team.
I loved it. It became more than a simple hobby. It was my life.
When I was about to graduate from high school, I got an athletic college scholarship that allowed me to continue my studies while doing what I love, running. However, this time it was different. I was now a professional runner.
I started running marathons, got the chance to participate in the 2012 London Olympics to represent Ireland. Sadly, I didn’t make it to the final round and was out of the competition before it even started.
After that, I got depressed and wanted to forget about running. I even stopped training and left College for a year.
However, while attending therapy to deal with my depression, my therapists said I should create an alter ego and found a way to express my feeling and share my passion with others. That’s how this blog first started.
About the Blog
Although this is my blog, I’m sure you’ve noticed it doesn’t carry my name. Jonathan Hill is my alter ego. Jonathan is a strong yet delicate man who loves running as much as I do but is not afraid of failure.
Besides, he’s always encouraging everyone to continue running forward in life, facing hardships, and overcoming them like a pro.
That’s what I want to share with all of you who’ll cross paths with this blog. Here, you’ll learn about my story, what I’ve been through in life, and everything I know about running, right through my alter ego’s eyes.
Welcome to Jonathan Hill.
